 The bookish brunette

  1. Rhiannon,
I just wanted to let you know I stayed up until 6:15 this morning so I could finish Last Bastion of the Living. This was such a wonderful book. Honestly, I was getting a little bored with zombies. So many zombie books out there seem identical but this one knocked my socks off! First, I think Dwayne was the greatest boyfriend (where can I get one like him??). Maria was awesome. I love her character just as much as I loved Lisbeth Salander (although they are two entirely different women) Commandant Pierce was cool I thought too. Some parts made me think a little of Starship Troopers, one of my favorites, because of the futuristic setting and the camaraderie and eagerness of the squad. The plot twists and the inferi scourge kept me on my toes. I thought I would be disappointed about Bastion being a stand alone novel but I wasn't at all. I have to agree with you about the end, it was perfect. I don't know what else to say except I love this book, wouldn't mind seeing a movie of it, but as it often goes, I don't think any movie could live up to your written words. Thank you for writing The Last Bastion of the Living!

  2. Diana,

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I loved writing it.
