Vlog #5- Dealing With Negative Reviews

  1. Fantastic vlog! Loved everything you said - its a shame there are some authors who don't have your positive attitude.

    1. It took awhile to develop it. I admit to making mistakes. But I've been writing and getting reader feedback for seven years now, and I've learned that in the long run it's the fans who are important. They're the ones I'm writing for as well as myself.

      I just hope other authors realize it before the waters become so poisoned all writers end up with a bad name. :(

  2. Your awesome Rhiannon, Great vlog, been reading alot of the things you said about that website and read alot of the things that was said. It was so immature and if I knew the names of these others that started that site I would know who's books to not read!

  3. I love your vlogs - you always give me something to think about! I'm not an author, but I always try and relate what I do back to my professional life - if my boss, or a customer, criticized something I did - would I post about it on the internet? Mmmmm, probably not, if I wanted to keep my job!

    And you make a really important point - there are so many nice, respectful, kind people out there, and they tend to get a bit lost in all the drama.

  4. Nice, Rhiannon! I think it all comes down to being a professional. No matter what the product is, there are going to be people who don't like it and want to voice their opinion. Whether it's music, food, writing, clothing, whatever... it ALL has critics. But it's how the company, author, chef, etc. deal with it that makes the difference. You hard work to build a good reputation, but it takes very little to destroy it.
